Description
We developed the Mallard after attending an outdoor show and hearing that hunters were using our Trillium paring knife in the field. So, the Mallard is really just an adapted Trillium. The blade is the same and so is the handle, other the the available colours and the lanyard hole we added for the Mallard. And the Mallard ships with a sheath.
The Mallard excels at the detailed work of processing birds, fish and small game. We also find it very useful for many steps in processing large game, deboning, for example. Besides game processing, the mallard makes a great light duty, fixed blade, EDC. It is well suited to food prep and a long list of other daily cutting tasks. It’s low profile and light weight mean it is easily carried in a pocket or backpack.
The Mallard, like all of North Arm’s outdoor knives, takes its name from West Coast fauna. The Mallard is the wild duck most people are familiar with and is well known in BC. It is the ancestor of many domesticated ducks.

I picked this knife up for this waterfowl season. Used it for the first time today on two geese and it was awesome. The knife is very nimble and comfortable in the hand allowing for very precise work. I’ve recommended to all of my hunting buddies.

I’ve only had it a week but man I love this knife! Sliciest little thing with a great feel in the hand, makes it really easy to manipulate. This is my first blade in Magnacut, pretty pumped to see if it lives up to the hype.
Factory edge came outstanding, other than a stropping I’m using as it came and I’ll wait to hit the stones when it actually needs it.
Quick and easy service, amazing value for the price, matched with a beautiful knife means I’ll be shopping here again.
Thanks North Arm!

Bought this knife a while back. Been put to use to a lot of birds and it’s done it’s job very well.
Thanks again for a quality knife and great customer service.

Just amazed with the quality these guys have put into this knife. Iv spent hundreds of dollars on fixed blades and this one by far takes the stand for my favourite. It was at first a gift for my wife but now I will have to order my own. The knife was on back order when I ordered it and it took only 4 days to get to my mail box. I am really pleased with the quality and speed keep up the great work!! P.s you guys should make a outdoor meat carving knife I would be interested also;)

Knife and sheath look great. Knife came razor sharp and is holding its edge extremely well. This knife is so light and the stock is pretty thin which makes it extremely useful for both food prep and EDC. Love it!

I called North Arm to check real time stock, placed an online order and I don’t think it took two hours before the knife was in my hands! Exceptional service, speedy customer care for a long term product. I was fortunate enough to put the new CPM MagnaCut Mallard to use on a decent goose the next day. Perhaps a larger than intended bird but the knife felt great.
Thank you

I received my knife yesterday.
First, I’m impressed with the overall quality of the knife, very well made.
Second and most importantly, the sheath IS AMBIDEXTROUS! As a left-handed, second class citizen, I am extremely appreciative of this. Nothing irks me more than buying a knife with (for a right-handed person) a perfectly useful and functional sheath only to throw it away and have to spend $50-$100 more to get a left-handed sheath made, simply so that I can carry it safely. THANK YOU! I’m not a big Kydex fan, but hey, it’s ambidextrous, so I’m good!
Because of your ambidextrous sheath, I’ll be buying one of your Lynx knifes soon and if you ever decide to make your Skaha knife ambidextrous (the closing mechanism) I’ll jump on the wait list.
Keep up the great work!
Going trout fishing next week so I can use my new knife!

I Received my Mallard today, I’m very happy with it. It was purchased to replace a well loved Grohmann #2 bird and trout knife that has sentimental value. I feel it will be a worthy successor. The kydex sheath is excellent quality and well worth the small sum over the trillium knife.

Last year I purchased 2 of the Mallard B&T. One for myself for caping duties and one for my eldest son for dressing waterfowl. The knives are very comfortable and nimble in hand. They work great for the fine work removing the hide around the antler basses, eyes, ears, and jaw. My son probably dressed 30 or more ducks and geese with his with just the occasional touch up of the edge needed here and there. The S35VN seems to hold an edge comparable to my other knives using S30V. I’m here ordering another one for my younger son to use. The sheaths are amazing in fit and finish. Some of the best Kydex work I’ve seen.
Thanks for a great product.

Got one for Father’s Day and I absolutely love it. Pair it with a large boker tek-lok for belt carry. Hair whittling sharp out of the box with a thin flexible blade. If you are an agronomist this knife will be your best friend, the thin razor edge allows for easy dissection of plants in the field and cuts through canola roots with ease. Can’t wait to try it this fall for partridge!

Used mine for the first time on a mallard here in Michigan. Great knife! Sharp from the start! Great craftsmanship. Could not be happier. Look forward to the rest of the season easy cleaning birds with this one!!

It’s a nice enough knife but it’s the exact same knife as the Trillium Paring knife only more expensive. $14 for a sheath seems excessive. Buy the paring knife and make your own sheath!
