After 12 years in 3 shops in Burnaby (metro Vancouver BC) we relocated our shop 200 kilometers north to Quadra Island (the Campbell River area of eastern Vancouver Island). That was March 2025 and although we announced it on Instagram and posted an update on our company page, this is the first time we’ve talked about it in a post.
As a direct sales e-commerce manufacturer, it has made no significant difference to how we operate, other than receiving fewer visits at the shop for in-person sales.
The larger shop, that we now own, has space for more workstations, and room to grow. But it’s also allowed us to get out of a very hectic city and live on the ocean in the middle of one of Canada’s famous salmon fishing areas. Hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, mushroom picking and many other activities are minutes, not hours, away.
While the surroundings might sound bucolic and suggest a more laid-back attitude to production, it’s actually been the inspiration for some new knife designs that we expect to start releasing this year. As well, 2025 and now into 2026 has also seen significant improvements to some product accessories, in particular the sheaths for our Mallard and Lynx Hunting knives.
We look forward to continue serving you from our new location and welcome you to visit the shop if you find yourself near Quadra Island; just check in with us ahead of time.

Would you please give us another hunting knife to choose from, one maybe a bit longer and narrower. But still good for skinning , gutting etc. Would be really appreciated and would give us another option to choose from.
We do have plans for more hunting knives. I sent you an email to follow up!
Hi Michael
Glad to hear you are considering the possibility of another knife in the hunting category. Hope it is a shrunk down lynx the size of a buck woodsman. This should make it the best general purpose lightweight belt knife around. I am no knife expert but the ones I know who have seen and handled my lynx say it would be difficult to improve its design in other ways, except possibly 1/8 inch stock for more strength. Whatever you come up with we are betting on a great knife !
All the best for success
John
Hi John and Mike, your new shop is very impressive! I can only imagine the location!!
Good for you.
Any new products as far as pocket knives?
Thanks,
Rod
Lakefield, Ont.
Hi Rod,
No current plans for new folding knife models. I would love to but I think we don’t have the capacity right now. We are growing our fixed blade lineup though. And there is a new and exciting scale material we are planning to offer on the Skaha, after some more prototyping.
Thanks for the video. I never did get to your ‘new’ location in Bby. Glad you are keeping the old annealing oven! Since I moved to Nanaimo about six years ago I have been cycling around Van Island, and have been from Jervis to Hardy, but haven’t gotten to many of the Gulf Islands, including Quadra yet. But I should. I need to do more fishing and kayaking too. This is the place!
Hi Barry! We’d love to see you at the new shop sometime. Let us know if you plan to come by. And yes, this is the spot for Kayaking and fishing, sometimes both at the same time if you are feeling adventurous!
