Description
This G10 and carbon fiber knife scale material is left over from our knife handle production as off-cuts which we can’t efficiently make use of. These blocks are the same G10 and carbon fiber we make our handles from.
G10 is a very rugged layered composite of fiberglass fabric, bonded with epoxy resin. The CF is a twill weave of CF fabric layers bonded with epoxy resin. The CF is laid up in 0 and 90 degree layers (no 45 degree layers) through the entire thickness so you don’t get weird visual effects when creating parts with curved surfaces.
We’ve decided to make these available to knife makers and anyone who needs small pieces of G10 or carbon fiber composites for their projects. These are sold as-is. We do not cut them cut them smaller for you; you will need a tile saw for that. We are also not selling bigger pieces than what’s listed. We will list these so long as we have them.
The blocks come in two nominal thicknesses: 1/4″ (6.35mm) and 3/8″ (9.5mm). the blocks are actually thicker than the nominal thickness so that no part of the block is under nominal thickness. The blocks are smooth and flat on both surfaces.
The blocks are all approximately the same length and width. Lengths are very close to 5 7/8″ (14.8cm) and widths are 3 7/16″ (8.7cm).
